- Simple, Beautiful Christmas Charcuterie Board
It's the color pallet that makes this charcuterie board extra festive. Well, that and the super delicious brie cheese & bacon jam Christmas tree used as the main focal point. When you're making a charcuterie board to fit a particular holiday, season or theme, the detail is all in the colors you use. Just think about the colors you normally see that time of the year. For Memorial Day, you'd want to select items that are red, white and blue. For Halloween, orange, green and black are all the rave. “Take it easy & let's get cheesy!" For this Christmas Charcuterie Board, I wanted to use red and white only and detail the outside of my board with some natural greens to keep the board light and festive. Ingredients for this board: When you think about Christmas and holiday snacks, what comes to mind? For me, I think about gingerbread, candy canes, and my momma's congealed cranberry salad. So, for this charcuterie board, variations of all three were a must! I found the frozen gingerbread cookies at Aldi, and since I love gingerbread so much, I bought two different types of gingerbread cookies. I also picked up some white chocolate, peppermint covered oreo cookies to satisfy my desire for all things peppermint around the holidays. Also, if you haven't yet tried a goat cheese log that has been smothered with berries, you're truly missing out. You can find them at just about any grocery store, usually covered with blueberries or cranberries, but for this board and my choice of using reds, I opted for the cranberry goat cheese log. These boards are so incredibly customizable, and I don't believe you can go wrong with anything you choose to put on your charcuterie board. Mine ALWAYS include salami and aged white cheddar cheese because both are some of my top charcuterie staples. You can find a super cute tutorial of my favorite little boy named Bennett making a salami rose here. Brie Cheese & Bacon Jam There's no other soft cheese quite like brie, and when it's served warm--oh my goodness--it's just everything! I used a cookie cutter in the shape of a Christmas tree and placed it on top of the wheel of cheese and used a super sharp knife to cut around the edges of the cookie cutter. The rind on brie is tough, but a sharp knife will cut through it just fine! Some prefer to remove it completely, but it's totally edible and for cutting shapes into your wheels of brie, you need the rest of the rind in tact. Once you remove the part you've cut, fill the "hole" with whatever jam you've selected. Bake in the oven on 350 for 5-7 minutes, or heat in the microwave for 1-2 minutes, and ENJOY!
