Caramel Apple Cider Float
When I was little, my mom kept us well-stocked with those little white pouches of dry apple cider during the winter months. There was also an apple orchard nearby, and I loved going to get a fresh jug of cider. It didn't last very long.
While there is absolutely nothing wrong with the average cup of hot apple cider, I wanted to play with some recipes to see if I could make a fun beverage the kids would enjoy, and boy, did I ever!! If you are a fan of cider, just wait until you try it poured over a scoop of vanilla ice cream with whipped cream and caramel sauce drizzled all over the top.
The details:
You really don't have to put much effort into this recipe. I started with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream in a glass and filled it nearly to the rim with apple cider. I suggest going all in and adding the whipped cream, too. Then, finish it off with as much caramel sauce as you'd like. If you're feeling super fancy, you can try making your own salted caramel. This recipe is my favorite, and I recently used it to make these Apple Spice Cookies with Homemade Salted Caramel. If you use store-bought caramel, you cannot find better than Ghirardelli brand, and it tastes almost as good as the homemade version.
Hospitality Idea:
Host an ice cream supper - Invite some friends over and have everyone bring a different flavor of ice cream and make an ice cream buffet! You can have bananas, pineapples and cherries for a banana split, Coca-Cola and Root Beer for floats, small pieces of cookie dough, Reese's Pieces, or chunks of brownie for chocolate lovers and more! The options are endless and the memories are certain to be priceless.
Lastly, if you make this, I'd love to know how you like it!! Share a photo on Facebook or Instagram and tag me @GallowayGrazes so I can see what you do, and as always, I hope you enjoy!!
